Tips to Fight Aging and Enhance Beauty
Maintaining your natural beauty is important, but sometimes
a little extra effort can make a big difference in how you look and feel. With
so many beauty products and techniques out there, it can be overwhelming to
know where to start. To help you out, we've gathered some tips from beauty
experts that are sure to make you look and feel your best. Say goodbye to aging
beauty concerns with these pro-approved tips!
If wrinkles are your concern, there's a surprising trick you
can try. Use a light dusting of loose powder, such as Airspun Loose Face
Powder, before applying foundation. The finely milled powder helps to fill in
fine lines, giving the appearance of smoother skin while also ensuring that
your makeup doesn't look cakey. According to celebrity makeup artist Amy
Zdunowski-Roeder, the powder also helps foundation stay on longer by giving it
something to grip to.
If you have thin lips, there's an easy way to create the
illusion of fuller lips with ombré color. Choose two shades of lipstick in the
same color family, one light and one dark. Using a lip brush, outline your lips
with the darker shade and then fill in the rest with the lighter one. Blend
lightly with the brush to create a subtle gradient effect.
Droopy eyelids can be a frustrating beauty concern, but
there's a solution: winged eyeliner. The angled flick of the eyeliner directs
focus upward, creating the illusion of lifted eyes. Zdunowski-Roeder suggests
using a spoon as a guide for the perfect wing. Hold the handle of the spoon at
a 45-degree angle on the outer corner of your eye, and trace a line using a
liquid liner like essence Eyeliner Pen. Flip the spoon and place the bowl at
the lash line, then trace the curve outward and connect it to the line. Fill in
the center of the wing for a dramatic look.
Sparse eyebrows can be easily plumped up with a
"feather" technique. First, brush your brow hairs up and out, and
then apply a clear brow gel. This sets the hairs vertically, creating the
illusion of thicker brows. Use a microblading pen like Glossier Brow Flick to
draw light, feather-like strokes where your brows are sparse. This mimics the
look of natural hairs for a fuller finish.
Dark circles can be masked with a concealer
"triangle." Instead of dotting concealer in a half moon shape under
your eyes, apply it in an upside-down triangle shape. This helps to point focus
down and away from discoloration while creating a brightening effect that can
make shadows and puffiness recede. Apply a creamy concealer from your lower lash
line to the top of your cheekbone, then blend well.
By incorporating these tips into your beauty routine, you
can address some of the most common aging beauty concerns and feel confident in
your own skin.
