The White House doctor confirms the removal of the cancerous lesion from the US President's chest

A White House doctor confirmed that the lesion removed from President Joe Biden's chest a month ago was cancerous.

The chief's longtime physician, Dr. Kevin O'Connor, said the lesion was basal cell carcinoma, a common form of skin cancer.

The 80-year-old Biden does not require further treatment after "all cancerous tissue was successfully removed" during a routine physical examination at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland on February 16 this year.

Dr O'Connor added that the site of her breast extraction "healed well".

Biden will continue regular skin exams as part of his routine health plan.

Dr. O'Connor said basophils are easily treatable, especially when caught early.

It usually does not spread like other cancers, but it can get bigger, so it is removed.
